Very Meaningful! You can think about how to put the work into real life applications.
Great job! I hope it can be widely applicable in reality.
Innovative, How did you model the efficiency?
Plenty of trial runs. Assuming you are asking about the efficiency of solar panels compared with Li-ion battery. Battery givers a run time of max 20 mins. However, channelling power directly using 12 v panels gives 1- 2 Amp to motors for as long as the sun is shining :)
After putting last 2 years into the project and having obtained a good MVP ( Minimum viable product) of building an autonomous bot that does its job of cleaning trash outdoors, I'm confused what direction should I take the project to. All feedbacks welcomed!
Can you tell me what is the cost of this robot? Because in India, cost is a very big factor for any project or idea as per my experience.
For the prototype Ramudroid about 9 thousand INR or $ 123
Roughly estimated breakdown for the robot
Body including brushes, wheels and bin - 1000, Motors and drivers - 1000 SoC ( Rpi ) , camera, GPS , LTE modules and Arduino - 5000 Solar panel and battery - 1500 other components - 500
I think you can contact to the municipal corporation of your area for your project and have their opinions on the table, because I think it is costly as per its capacity and efficiency to clean garbage.
Quite an interesting approach. Would you be interested in discussing more about how you came up with the idea and the idea --> execution process?
:) it was inspired by Bharat Swachata Abhiyaan ( clean India mission). since the project is interdisciplinary, I did take a lot of help to make an effective working prototype, the process continues to date. Some open-source designs and code are at https://github.com/altanai/Ramudroid
I think the true problem that needs solving is what happens to the litter after it is collected.
An exciting prototype!
