Here are some of the CAD tools recommended by educators from previous workshops. Please comment if you have other recommendations!

  1. OnShape, it's a cloud-based CAD software (free!)- aimed at professional designers similar to Solidworks.
  2. Autodesk Fusion 360, a software for high school students and professionals. Autodesk also offers certifications and curriculum for CAD design.
  3. Autodesk TinkerCad, a tool for elementary and middle school students.
  4. Autodesk Inventor, a tool for middle and high school students.
  5. Sketchup, some high school students have used Sketchup as well.
  6. Rhino3D,  a 3D computer graphics and computer-aided design (CAD) application software for high school students.
  7. Solidworks, a software for high school students and professionals. Similar as Fusion 360, Solidworks has been widely used by InvenTeams students.
