Hello,
Am I a day late and a dollar short, or will I actually be ahead of the game?
After Yuqi's MIT Alumni for Climate Action (MACA) presentation on extreme event attribution and India's early 2020s heat wave, the conversation centered around the ability to predict extreme events. Like many, that was my idea for AI, I searched the internet, and found [1], which has a chapter called "Predicting Catastrophic Events Using Machine Learning Models for Natural Language Processing" as the next to last chapter. I plan to read this in about three months. With that said, I will not have the knowledge to implement it until I take the Caltech and IBM course in a year's time.
So, will it be old news in 1.58 years? Am I a day late and a dollar short among MIT grads and affiliate members of MACA? I hope to be successful and have some value. Time will tell.
