I spoke yesterday with a representative of the Amgen Foundation. In the course of that conversation, he called my attention to Labxchange, which is a suite of freely available interactive chemistry, biology, and biotech simulations at the high school and college level.

Caveat: while I haven’t used Labxchange and don’t have the scientific expertise to judge its value, I’m aware of faculty at reputable universities who do have that expertise and who do use the platform.

Science of learning findings support the incorporation of active learning. Labxchange provides active learning not only in the form of individual units, but in access to and creation and modification of “pathways” that tie together these units into a desired scope and sequence.
