Aww c'mon David Roberts, why didn't you cover the GeoMicroDistrict? https://heetma.org/geomicrodistrict/ Pilot tests approved by our DPU, plans in the works for sites in environmental justice communities with all three eastern MA gas utilities - honest to goodness FF jobs transition prospect - and bigger things in store.
(And, glad to note that MIT hosted their multi-day workshop this past January IAP https://heetma.org/2020/02/05/heet-runs-utility-scale-geothermal-charrette-in-mits-january-session/)
I believe the "4) Advanced geothermal systems (AGS)" being in particular EAVOR which is a closed loop system is Very interesting. They have proven their concept works and early production efforts are starting to get underway. https://eavor.com/ if you are interested. The rest of the hot rocks geothermal works, but seems to not yet be fully economical. It also requires release of a Lot of heat to the atmosphere, although it may be no more than current fossil generation.
