I just bought my last holiday present to myself. When it arrived I quickly unwrapped it and there was, a large Styrofoam ice chest. Opening it I was greeted by a rush of cold CO2. Peering inside there was my treasure beside the quickly gasifying chunk of dry ice-my glorious steaks. In my mind I was already envisioning pouring lighter fluid on charcoal briquettes. I could even smell the meat searing on the grill. I didn’t even think of the poor cow feasting on corn for a month, burping out CO2 and even more potent methane. I consoled myself by thinking that the corn farmer, at least, was now practicing no till farming or maybe burying carbon in his soil.

Do I dare say it, Happy Thanksgiving! Let’s think about that.
