O&G Technologies Can Improve Carbon Dioxide Removal

I believe technologies from Oil and Gas Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS), like chemical-looping applied to Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS), will revolutionize the Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) processes. In the chemical-looping case, there is a possibility of zero energy penalty while capturing up to 100% of CO2.

'Since this separation is inherent to the process, in principle 100% of the CO2 can be captured and can be achieved at a fraction of the energy penalty associated with other processes, such as post combustion capture using amine solvents.'[1]

Another technology from Oil and Gas is Ionic Liquids (IL) in absorption processes. ILs can be tuned similarly to Metal-Organic-Frameworks, and the two have been combined to enhance CO2 adsorption. This can be done with membranes or particles.

Much research still needs to be done, but I believe Oil and Gas can help lead the way towards better CDR technologies. With that said, Green House Gas Removal experts are quite important as well.

I hear your point of view and agree that the Oil and Gas companies "could help with ..." whatever.

But to date they have been the most untrustworthy bums in the room ... openly knowing their technology was Damaging the Plant while granting funds to universities everywhere with explicit gag requirements stopping all efforts to stop fossil fuel use. They are Scum at this point having actively for years worked Directly Against All Climate Action ... including at MIT where we were directly told in 2016 that the administration Could Not Take On Decarbonization due to the fossil industry's large donations and effective control of the MIT Board. That industry is scum.

It will take a lot before this Climate Activist will ever trust them to work for Climate Action. The obvious presumption is that 100% of their efforts are to Delay Any Change, now buy promising some mythic CCS long, long, long, and potentially forever before it will every make any economic sense. We will all be well served when our focus on the Oil and Gas industry is limited to forcing them to change their business practices so they STOP damaging our Planet!!!

Sorry to be harsh, but I am personally sick of such liars having so must power because of all their wealth. And let's not forget the GeoPolitical damage from this industry as well where the list is very very long. Iran and thus the entire Middle East?!!! Just how much do you think that has cost us??!!
