I'm pre recording sessions for my students using and ipad. Do you happen to know how could i record only the white part of the ppt and not having to trim out the black part of the screen afterwards?

I'm just guessing, but maybe it would help to change your Powerpoint aspect ratio so that it matches the aspect ratio of the final video? https://support.office.com/en-us/article/change-the-size-of-your-slides-040a811c-be43-40b9-8d04-0de5ed79987e You might have to experiment...
